Stay-Miley Cyrus (I only like her slow songs)
Some might agree with me, others might disagree with me. Please just respect my opinions.
I believe the “web world” is very similar to high school. (Or at least the stereotypical high school). However (don’t get me wrong) I love the web world. Anyway why do I believe it is like high school? Simple. Without meeting each other we do judge each other. If someones site isn’t as “good looking”. They judge based on first appearance (just like high school does). They rank the site before they look at the content and before they get to know the owner. If the site has a mismatched layout, bad CSS, unbearable music, huge header image, we always judge. Maybe we will not visit that site ever again, just because of first appearance.

Just like high school, there are the “popular kids”. I probably do not have to name sites, because you are probably thinking of the same exact sites as me. They get over 500+ unique hits, rarely leave decent comments back and have ridiculous standards to be affiliates. They always get comments and praises: but never respond back. Everyone wants to be friends with them because they are just “that good”. There are also the people who are “snooty (aka the bitches)” who do not comment back, make little content, but think they won Greatest Webdesigner in the World award. They aren’t friendly but think they make the best layouts and everything. People have such high egos. Also they close all the time, just to get sympathy votes.

Just like high school everyone has a “clique” or a group of friends. I use to have a clique (we were all affiliates and friends with each other). Most people talk to their affiliates/friends (I do not have a problem with that). However many people do not branch out as much. Of course they’ll comment people here and there but they have their “main group” of friends. They are their best online friends.

Just like high school, there are the “Brains (aka helpful people). The helpful people that always comment back and are always there for help. I can name 2 sites that I know of, off the top of my head. However they often get used and not enough praise for their niceness

Maybe you have your own idea of the web world, but I think it parallels to high school pretty well.
